[01]Overview
As an organic binder for iron-ore pelletising, CMC partly or fully replaces bentonite, lowering silica in the pellet while maintaining green and dry strength. In flotation it depresses talc, serpentine and other silicate gangue and assists copper–lead separation. A granulated grade (OL6-G) is available for dust-free dosing.
- Typical dosage
- Pelletising 0.03 – 0.1 %; flotation 50 – 500 g/t (typical)
- HS code
- 3912.31
- CAS No.
- 9004-32-4
What it does
- 01Organic binder for iron-ore pellets — reduces bentonite and silica
- 02Depressant for talc, serpentine and silicate gangue
- 03Selective depressant in Cu–Pb separation
- 04Dispersant for slimes
